"I never got to meet my older brother. But, I've heard amazing things about him - he was kind, he was brave, he rarely complained. He loved all things Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and looked up to Popeye the Sailor Man. If you asked him who his favorite singer was, he'd say "Michael Jackson" in a heartbeat. When he grew up, he wanted to become a priest - once, he told my Mom to call him "Angel". He was such a smart kid with a bright future. But, his life journey ended from a malignant brain tumor called anaplastic astrocytoma - a medical term that should never be associated with any human being, let alone an 8-year-old child."

This September, in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, we are going gold and fundraising to help kids who are battling childhood cancer get more effective and therapeutic treatment options. A child going through treatment today is going through the same exact treatment protocol they used on P.J. - 30 years ago. With all of the advancements made in medical research, this is unacceptable. Help us reach our goal for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month! Donations made go towards funding clinical trials to help find new, healthier, and better treatment options for these young superheroes!
They deserve to grow up.
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and is globally represented by the color gold. To help raise awareness, Solving Kids' Cancer distributes thousands of gold shoelaces as part of the "Lace Up For Kids" campaign. Supporters across the globe exchange their shoelaces for gold ones in support of kids fighting cancer and the need for childhood cancer research.
